Another Award for Our Work

Another Award for Our Work

Man Anchor received an award for a top 10 finish in the printing industry Power 50 awards

A few weeks ago we were humbled and shocked to receive a Top 10 finish in the printing industry Power 50 awards in recognition of our work and contribution to the mental health of the industry.
The awards are peer-voted, so to know the impact that Man Anchor has had on the industry and the people within it means the world to me. To stand side by side with so many mentors and friends on the evening made it even more special, with some being part of my journey with Man Anchor and now with the Anchor Health Group since the very beginning.
Thanks to the @proprintmag & @sprinternews teams and everyone for their unbelievable support.
1, 2, 3…. Health is Health

Free #LetsTalk Mental Health Poster

Free #LetsTalk Mental Health Poster

Our Free #LetsTalk Mental Health Poster is proudly displayed in homes, schools and workplaces all over Australia. Now it’s available in 10 additional languages!

In life, we are encouraged to take care of our physical health, but it’s imperative that our mental health or mental wellness is prioritised too.
The poster provides a basic list of common triggers to a mental health crisis and will help you recognise the most common signs & symptoms.

For many people in Australia, English is not their first language. This can add an additional barrier to the understanding and treatment of mental health issues.
With this in mind, we have now translated our popular poster into ten additional languages.

You can download a pdf of each poster HERE>:

Youth Mental Health First Aid Workshops

Youth Mental Health First Aid Workshops

On Sunday 20th June in Cronulla & the 27th of June in Collaroy, we will be facilitating our Youth Mental Health First Aid program. The program is a blended version with a 4 hours eLearning package and a 7-hour face to face facilitated workshop at our Man Anchor in both areas.

The course teaches adults how to assist adolescents who are developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Course participants learn about adolescent development, the signs and symptoms of the common and disabling mental health problems in young people, where and how to get help when a young person is developing a mental illness, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

Developing mental health problems covered are:
•Depression
•Anxiety problems
•Psychosis
•Substance use problems
•Eating disorders

Mental health crisis situations covered are:
•Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
•Non-suicidal self-injury (sometimes called deliberate self-harm)
•Panic attacks
•Traumatic events
•Severe effects of drug or alcohol use
•Severe psychotic states
•Aggressive behaviours

This is a truly empowering and insightful program that in my opinion could benefit all parents of teenagers.
